Few pitchers have proven more difficult to take deep this season than Lance Lynn. Considering much of the Pittsburgh Pirates' offense lately has come via the long ball, they could be in trouble Tuesday night against Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park. Lynn (14-8, 2.78 ERA) has gone 6-2 with a 1.73 ERA in nine starts since surrendering a season-high six earned runs in a 9-1 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 28. He split two meetings with Pittsburgh earlier this season, allowing two runs in 6 2-3 innings in a 5-2 home win on July 9 after giving up four runs in six innings of a 4-3 road loss on May 10.
