Numerous outlets reported the deal as done Friday, but there wasno announcement from the Twins because Carroll, 37, mustfirst pass a physical. He is a 10-year veteran who played his pasttwo seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He hit .290 with a .359on-base percentage while playing 147 games at short and second baselast season. He committed nine errors between the twopositions.
