As an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, I often read the team's official website. I also read the fans' letters to Cubs beat writer Carrie Muskat. In the April 26 edition of Cubs Inbox, a fan asked why left-handed hitting first baseman Bryan LaHair does not play regularly against left-handed pitchers. It reminded me of a question that I often ask about many left-handed hitters. How can they gain the experience to hit lefties well if they rarely get the opportunity? I would like to see Bryan LaHair get more at-bats against all pitchers, left- or right-handed.
