Los Angeles Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda threw a scare into his many fans on Tuesday with the report that he had been hospitalized in New York after suffering a heart attack. The good news, however, is that the heart attack is being described as "mild" — though you wonder if there is such a thing as a mild heart attack for an 84-year-old — and that Lasorda is expected to soon be released from the hospital and back onto the rubber chicken circuit. From TMZ : (Lasorda) was in NY representing the L.A. Dodgers at the MLB draft, which started (on Monday). Sources tell us ... the heart attack was "mild" and Tommy is expected to be okay -- and the plan is for him to be released tomorrow. People at the draft began to suspect something was wrong today when Lasorda was not present to announce the Dodgers' draft picks. Lasorda appeared just fine Sunday, signing autographs at a media gathering and eating at an Italian restaurant in Brooklyn ... even singing with an accordion player. The omniscient folks at TMZ have video of Lasorda's duet with the accordion player — of course they do! — as a bemused Lou Piniella looks on.
