The Dodgers pounded All-Star right-hander Jordan Zimmermann for seven runs in the second inning in support of a stellar Clayton Kershaw, and Los Angeles cruised to a 9-2 victory. By completing a three-game sweep coming out of the All-Star break, the Dodgers improved to 20-5 since June 22 and pulled into a temporary tie atop the NL West with the D-backs, who were still playing at San Francisco on Sunday.
