Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti was a contestant in a very important sweepstakes Tuesday morning, one that would result in the largest contract ever given an Asian baseball player. By Tuesday night, Colletti knew he was out. The Yankees were signing Japanese pitcher Masahiro Tanaka to a seven-year, $155 million contract, plus a $20 million posting fee to be paid to the Rakuten Golden Eagles.
