Yasiel Puig was not in the lineup on Sunday night against the Giants. Instead, he was getting an MRI on his injured left thumb after X-rays came up negative. Manager Don Mattingly said after Sunday's game that Puig had a strained thumb ligament, calling it a "day-to-day thing."
