Clayton Kershaw started Opening Day for the Dodgers and won in Australia. He then went on the disabled list with a back problem and since his return he's proved to be lousy, good and very good in four starts.Kershaw wasn't terrific Wednesday night, but he wasn't too shabby either. He pitched seven innings and struck out nine while allowing seven hits and three earned runs -- included therein was a first-inning two-run homer by Brandon Phillips.
