On Saturday, the California native officially informed the Miami Marlins that he has no intentions to pitch for them in 2015, and would prefer to be dealt back to a west coast team where he can remain close to home. Miami also received second baseman Dee Gordon and infielder Miguel Rojas in exchange for prospects Andrew Heaney, Chris Hatcher, Enrique Hernandez and Austin Barnes. At the time, Miami was fully aware of Haren's desire to stay out west and his threats to retire if those accommodations weren't met. In fact, Haren reaffirmed his stance in a statement soon after the trade was agreed to. "I have been notified of the trade to Miami.
