Brandon McCarthy gave up a run in three innings Friday night in his second spring for the Los Angeles Dodgers, a 3-3 tie with the Cincinnati Reds. McCarthy, who signed a four-year, $48-million free-agent contract with the Dodgers on Dec. 16, gave up an RBI double to Chris Dominguez in the second inning and three hits overall. The right-hander, a projected starter, has allowed two runs on five hits in five innings, including two in his first spring start against the Brewers on March 8. Marquis, 36, gave up one run on three hits in four innings.
