Despite his recent tear at the plate as well as steady defense at third base, rookie Alex Guerrero was not in the starting lineup for the Dodgers on Monday for the opener of a three-game series against San Francisco at Dodger Stadium.While Dodgers manager Don Mattingly conducted his pregame media interview in the dugout three hours before the first pitch, Guerrero occasionally came down from on-field batting practice to grab a drink, seemingly trying to get in Mattingly's line of vision so he wouldn't forget he was still around.
