The Colorado Rockies are approaching the longest losing streak in franchise history, but they're more concerned with manager Walt Weiss. With Weiss recovering from surgery, the Rockies will try to snap their 11-game slide Thursday night when they open a four-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Colorado (11-19) has the fewest wins in the majors, but concern has shifted to Weiss, who underwent an appendectomy Wednesday following two days of stomach discomfort. Bench coach Tom Runnells will guide the team in his absence, and the Rockies are facing the possibility of a 12th straight loss, one shy of the record set as an expansion team in 1993.
