Chicago White Sox pitcher Carlos Rodon turned in arguably the finest start of his young career Thursday against the Texas Rangers, but left with nothing to show for it. Rodon was fantastic over six innings, allowing just one run and striking out 10 batters. He had some issues with his control, walking three, but was otherwise strong during the start. The White Sox bats, however, failed to hold up their end of the bargain. Chicago was shut down by Yovani Gallardo over six innings. The club managed to squeak out one run against Gallardo, but it wound up being unearned. The two teams would remain tied at one, and would have to go to extra innings. Despite their strong starts, neither Gallardo nor Rodon would come away with a victory. The Rangers would, though. In the bottom of the 11th, Texas came through.
