New York left fielder Michael Cuddyer was re-examined by doctors Thursday and given a new medication for his aching left knee that the Mets hope will keep him off the disabled list. Cuddyer was not in the lineup against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Mets' 3-0 loss Thursday night and had started only seven of the previous 18 games. Mets manager Terry Collins said after the game Cuddyer's visit to the doctor went well and that the outfielder was given new medication.
