The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed second baseman Howie Kendrick on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring and recalled infielder Jose Peraza from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Kendrick, in his first season with the Dodgers after nine years with the Angels, is hitting .296 with nine homers and 49 RBIs in 105 games this season. ''I don't know how bad the MRI is at this point, but we know he's bad enough to put him on the DL,'' manager Don Mattingly said before Monday night's home game with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
