The Dodgers designated pitcher Mat Latos for assignment after he was winless in five starts since being acquired from the Miami Marlins 1 1/2 months ago.The right-hander went 0-3 with a 6.66 ERA in six games for the NL West-leading Dodgers, who obtained him on July 30 in a five-player trade.
