Clayton Kershaw became the first pitcher in 13 years to strike out 300 batters as the Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 6-3 to conclude the regular season on Sunday. Kershaw struck out seven batters in a mere 3 2/3 innings - he told the team before the game he wanted a shorter outing than usual - and finished the season with 301 strikeouts, a new career high.
