Japanese right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma has agreed to a one-year Major League Baseball deal with the Seattle Mariners after failing a physical with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Iwakuma initially agreed a three-year deal with the Dodgers worth $45 million (41.5 million euros) on December 6. At the same time, the Mariners began talks with the 34-year-old, who had rejected a $15.8 million qualifying offer when free agency began and a two-year offer for $30 million just before coming to terms with the Dodgers.
