Brandon McCarthy won his second straight start after a 14-month recovery from Tommy John surgery, and the Los Angeles Dodgers scored a disputed run to beat the San Diego Padres 4-3 on Saturday. McCarthy (2-0) gave up three runs in five innings, including a first-inning, two-run homer by Yangervis Solarte. The right-hander retired 10 of the next 12 hitters, holding the Padres to a pair of walks.
