As the Chicago Cubs were grooming a stable of young talent for a run at history, they needed a cherry on top, so to speak.An ace pitcher who could deliver exactly what Jon Lester did on Thursday night.Needing a victory to get the series lead before they would face Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw, Lester fashioned a gem and brought the Cubs within one victory of their first World Series since 1945.
