The Dodgers aren't sure what they will get from starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy on Sunday. His start was pushed back one day after he suffered an unspecified injury to his left (non-throwing) shoulder in a Wednesday weight room incident. The Padres plan to start Trevor Cahill, who was briefly a Dodgers Minor Leaguer two seasons ago.
