Clayton Kershaw is progressing toward a return from a lower back strain that has sidelined him since July 24. Kershaw is inching closer to resuming pitching off a mound. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he exchanged text messages with Kershaw and has spoken with the Dodgers' training staff.
