Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will rejoin the rotation for a start Friday against the Padres, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts told reporters Sunday after the club lost to the Brewers, 3-2. Kershaw, who has been out since leaving his July 23 start after two innings with a lower back strain, allowed just one run in five innings while striking out eight batters in his only rehab start Saturday night. Kershaw (15-2, 2.04 ERA) had stated earlier this week that he felt healthy enough to return to the rotation a while ago, but understood the organization was free to take its time with the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner.
