Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star shortstop Corey Seager will miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed on Monday with a right ulnar collateral ligament sprain that will require Tommy John surgery. The Dodgers placed Seager, who turned 24 on Friday, on the 10-day disabled list due to the ailment and recalled infielder Breyvic Valera from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Elbow issues first surfaced for Seager last summer, though he was advised by the team not to undergo surgery after having an MRI in the offseason.
