Longoria to have surgery on broken hand, miss six to eight weeks
San Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria told reporters Saturday he'll have surgery to repair a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left (non-throwing) hand and expects to miss six to eight weeks. "Hopefully soon after the All-Star break, I should be back," Longoria said before Saturday's game against the L.A. Dodgers, per ESPN. "It's best to say six to eight weeks, but I have a hard time telling myself that.
