Boston's 5-1 win over Los Angeles Dodgers to clinch the World Series 4-1 was a procession. Eighty-six years it took the Red Sox to break the 'Curse of the Bambino' following that trade of Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees. Steve Pearce was the star, his two-run home run followed by solo homers from Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez and then Pearce again putting the seal on an outstanding season for the Red Sox, after having posted a record 108 wins in the regular season.
