Hit with a recent injury wave at catcher, the Tampa Bay Rays acquired veteran backstop Travis d'Arnaud from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday for cash considerations. The Rays picked up d'Arnaud, 30, after their two catchers both hit the team's injured list -- Mike Zunino (quad), who manager Kevin Cash said this week will likely be out for four-to-five weeks, and Michael Perez (oblique). The Dodgers had signed d'Arnaud last Sunday, two days after his release from the New York Mets.
