The Los Angeles Dodgers placed infielder David Freese on the 10-day injured list because of a left hamstring strain Sunday. Freese, 36, is hitting .308 with eight homers and 23 RBIs in 56 games this season. The Dodgers promoted catcher Will Smith from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take Freese's spot on the roster.
