Dodgers make trade deadline seem less relevant

SAN FRANCISCO -- The National League West might still be decided based on what the respective general managers of the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers are able to pull off before Thursday's trade deadline.And then again it might not.The Giants have made the only two moves so far, with general manager Brian Sabean scooping up Jake Peavy for a couple of pitching prospects from the Boston Red Sox, and Dan Uggla from the Atlanta Braves' discard pile.
