LOS ANGELES -- Considering Hanley Ramirez has had two plate appearances since June 23 and has started one of the Dodgers' last eight games, it seems reasonable to wonder whether he's headed for the disabled list for the first time this season. He has been bothered in the past few weeks by both an irritated right shoulder and a strained left calf.Dodgers manager Don Mattingly insists that's not the case. He used Ramirez as a pinch hitter Monday night and he was promptly intentionally walked by Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona.
