DENVER -- If his expectations weren't heavy enough for Los Angeles Dodgers southpaw Clayton Kershaw, his manager may have added a little bit more to it. Before Kershaw took the mound Friday at the hitter's haven that is Coors Field -- with 28 consecutive scoreless innings on the line, no less -- Don Mattingly threw more onto his 26-year-old pitcher's plate when he said he thought the reigning National League Cy Young winner hasn't yet hit his ceiling.
