PHOENIX -- In the last month, the Tampa Bay Rays have lost one of the game's brightest executives, Andrew Friedman, and one of its most innovative managers, Joe Maddon.Speaking at Dodger Stadium, where the U.S. All-Stars practiced last weekend before their long flight to Japan, Rays third baseman Evan Longoria, who is signed through at least 2022, said he feels Friedman left the organization in fine shape before he bolted for the Dodgers. According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the Dodgers will pay Friedman $42 million over five years.
